Call for Telehealth Equity

This campaign focuses on enabling telehealth access to improve the lives of 1,000,000 people in communities of color across the country.

Your participation in this campaign will help improve the future quality, equity, and affordability of telehealth while reducing costs, informing regulatory changes, and encouraging novel, evolving technology.

We implore individuals and institutions to take meaningful and measurable steps to right the health inequities, structural racism, and discrimination. There is much work to do in access to telehealth, and in that vein, we are issuing this “Call to Action,” and we urge you to join us.

1) GET EDUCATED: We believe that a fundamental step in achieving the change we seek is to understand where we are today and how we got here. To that end, HT4M is launching a series of webinars, Town Halls & Equity Learning Sessions open to institutions and individuals. We must understand and talk about the root cause of the telehealth disparities and the digital divide we have today among racial/ethnic groups, geography, income, and health.

2) GET ACTIVATED: We believe that in order to achieve the change we seek, individuals, organizations, and institutions must contribute their time, treasure, and talent to make a difference. We encourage you to lead, volunteer, donate to, and advocate for our workgroups

3) ADVOCATE: The systemic change we seek cannot be achieved unless and until individuals and institutions use their individual and collective voices, networks, finances, and influence to advocate for change.

We call upon all stakeholders––payers, providers, patients, policymakers, and innovators–– to join us in our efforts to commit to telehealth equity. Here are a few ways that Health Tech for Medicaid is striving to achieve this goal and how you engage in the solution and campaign:
